Certainly everyone likes a pair of nice shoes, for running or for leisure, does not matter. It must look good, to your liking and most importantly be functional. Here, I give you my first hand experience and a lowdown – the truthful Nike Dualtone Racer Review!

And excitedly, I have just bought a new pair of Nike Dualtone Racer, because I have retired and thrown a pair of Nike Air Zoom Structure (which have served me well for about the past one and a half years). Furthermore it is festive season and tons of offer is going online, hence it is time to pamper myself with a nice little year end gift :))

So it’s 12 Dec (12.12) following the big 11.11 sale, I followed the shopping craze and bought myself a pair of the Nike Dualtone Racer at some discount at Zalora.sg, along with some other merchandise of course! The more you buy, the more you save isn’t it haha.

Soon enough, yup, here it is. Delivered to my door step and unpacked! This is how it stacks up – my new pair of Nike Dualtone Racer in noble red!

The Listed Price Tag: SGD 149 

Wonderful. I think it looks great. I like the color tone. It looks fashionable as well.

Definitely, I would use it for everyday wear as well rather than just for running. I think it can look stylish in casual wear too.

Here’s the technical specifications from Zalora, it says:

– Lightweight running shoes with signature brand logo
– Mesh upper for breathable comfort
– Textile insole
– Rubber outsole offers durability
– Dual-density foam sole for support and cushioning
– Lace up fastening

 

Well, hmm… sounds good. let’s have a good look from all around.

 

 

 

 

 

Indeed, I am very sold by its looks. Yeah, I have already bought it moreover 😛

 

Of course, I must take it for a run too.

As a result of a run enthusiast, yes, I am using the Nike + app (I like the app too ;))

Taking the Nike Dualtone Racer for a Run! The run experience.

Certainly, it started out all well, lightweight, snugs to your foot, giving the vibes. A bit loud on the landing steps though I believe due to the fact that it is just durable double density rubber, rather than the air sole siblings counter part. Runs well into the kilometer mark.

But a little more into the run, I realised something is not right – the heel tab! Oh no, I just realise the rubbing sensation. I can start to feel the burning. Ouch, but I pushed on, cursing myself on the choice of socks – I have worn ankle socks! Should have chosen a higher pair of socks. Stupid me and lesson learnt. I cursed the heel tab design as well haha.

Finally, the end result: bad abrasion!

Conclusion of my Nike Dualtone Racer Review:

Well, overall this pair definitely scores well for me. Color, aesthetics, form and function. Except for the heel tab lack of cushion and a tab rather than a notch (not too sure why perhaps it looks better for a stylish street wear feel). Otherwise it would be perfect.

Hence, I think I will only take it out for casual wear! Not for run…
